The 'Aftermath' of PSLE Oral

We walked into the waiting room, our hearts pounding with trepidation. Suspense was killing us as we watched the candidates slowly disappearing outside. Outside was the beginning of the end. I mean that it begins that the whole PSLE oral was going to end in the next 10 minutes. We stared blankly at the pellucid piece of transparent file with a sheet of paper with an 'endless abyss' of words. Tried reciting it but we could only do it in a monotonous tone, afraid of disturbing the other candidates. This, was part of our destiny, our chance to strive for excellence and pass with flying colours, thus going to our dream school. The choice was in our hands. Do well, get good marks, do badly, get lousy marks. Simple philosophy. After 5 minutes, it will all be over. Exaggerate the passage, speak with more feelings! After all, you will not be seeing the examiners again right?
Phew! That signals the end-The examiners making a quick glance at each other and signaling with their hands that we could go. Silence around the school remained as we walked out out of the testing room. Every step down the stairs was creepy as the serenity of the school 'emphasized' on the sound effects. Down the stairs...all the way down to the first floor, not being allowed to stop at any level. THe swishing of the waterfall soothed our feelings as we walked out of the gate...
