On cloud nine

As the bus rumbled the Karak Highway, exuberance bubbled in me. We were going to Genting Highlands Theme Park. A theme park holiday was my type, as I enjoyed every single second of being there and trying out all the rides.
Soon, the road came to a climb and white fog came into view. The higher we climbed, the foggier and colder it got and soon the bus dropped us off at the Genting Skyrail Terminal.
It was a long queue of about 150 people but a fast moving one. In half an hour it was our turn to board the Skyrail
The Skyrail was something like the 'Cable Car' but they called it a 'gondola'. It ascended up the mountain, and in some places it got so foggy that the surrounding was just PLAIN WHITE.
After minutes of ascending, the surrounding trees turned from the tropical to the coniferous ones.
Alas! After half an hour in the metal cocoon, we finally reached First World Hotel. Which is where the theme park was. We actually wanted to leave out the outdoor park because of the freezing weather and go to the indoor one instead. But after seeing what the indoor park had (roller coaster going round and round and long Q), we decide that the outdoor park was worth enduring the cold weather.
At the ticket booth, the sign displayed that 2 rides were closed but the cashier said that only 2 RIDES WERE OPEN! We thought that more rides would be open as the weather got better so we just proceeded with the buying.
It was so cold that I could 'smoke' by blowing out warm air that condensed. Although it didn't rain, the floors were wet due to the dew that condensed when it came in contact with the floor.
Took the all the rides except the Dragon and the Tobbogan and the Sungai Rejang Fume Ride.
Now I shall describe the 'thriller rides'.
Corkscrew: Double 360 degree flips with lotsa jerks and drops. Very thrilling!
Flying Coaster: You get into a capsule where it is required for you to lie flat. Very fast! I always thought we were gonna crash into the pillars. Two 360 degree flips.
Space shot: 12 people sit perpendicular on a square capsule, strapped by safety belts criss crossing each other. Then it shoots up into the sky, not at the very fast speed, until the top. When I sat on the ride, on top was a foggy heaven. The bottom was not within sight because of the fog. The capsule will then drop down at an alarming rate that it dragged my face along and I felt I left my heart behind on top!
Yea thats all for today =)

Pewter

Set off at 9plus heading towards the Royal Selangor Pewter Company. At the entrance, there was a giant goblet made entirely outta pewter. It was in the Guinness Book of Records as the largest something which I don't know.
Now this company is not overnment owned, instead, it was a family buisness. At the entrance to the exhibition, there was a huge wall with lots of hand prints carved out from pewter. Those were the hand prints of the workers who have worked in the ompany fro more than 5years.
Pewter is made up of:

  • Tin

  • Antimony

  • Copper

90% of Tin is usually added, though this may be different in the types of products manufactured. Pewter was traditionally made up of Tin and Lead, but with Lead being poisonous, pewter in those days were not food-safe. So, today, the elements used to make pewter are different.

In another part of the exhibition room, there was a massive wall made entirely up of pewter plates, each plate costing as much as RM 150. Every single plate was designed by hammering of carving out the patterns. There was even a replica of the Petronas Twin Towers, made up of 7000 pewter tubes. It was standing at least 3 storeys high!

It was said that when shaping out the pewter, metal scraps are wasted and there were these words on the wall 'No pewter goes to waste'. In the middle of the exhibition room, there was a huge hollow cube with pewter scraps packed inside. It actually weighed 1500kg and that amount of pewter can be made 1400 teapots!

Outside the exhibotion room, there was a big factory that could be viewed from close by a ramp leading down. One worker was making handles for the teapots by pouring molten pewter inside a mould and opening it up a 2 seconds later. Bingo! A handle slipped out like magic! It cooled so fast that any spillage onto the table solidified in to coin like metal. Then, the worker would dip the handle into the molten pewter and use the heat to 'chop' off the ends so that the unwanted ends would become molten again, without any wastetage.

In another part of the exhibition room, there was a worker imprinting patterns into a sheet of pewter, which would then we soldered and made into a limited edition tea set, cosing 8000RM.

In a corner of the factory, there was a 'School of Hard Knocks', teaching you pewter smithing. We attended the course which taught us how to transform a circular piece of pewter, into an ice cream bowl. It took half an hour and we even got to imprint our initials on the bottom of the bowl.

Another room we visited was the showroom, we showcased the products the company manufactured. The prices ranged from a 50RM teacup to a 172kRM Peacock. Most of the pewter products were handmade, so its the workmanship fee we were paying for.

It rained and we went back to hotel LOL

Away

I looked at my watch which reflected under the dim yellow light: 6.30am. I was setting off to KL from home by car. Had breakfast at McDonalds located just beside West Coast Park, then proceeded in the direction of the checkpoint. The traffic there wasn't too bad as we got through within minutes.
Along the North South Highway, there were coloured flowers planted along the road divider and teak trees along the kerb. Oil plantations were common there and you could just enjoy a breathtaking view of fields that only ended in the distant horizon.
The territories of Nothern Johor was hardly visible as the early fog had settled down over the canopy. Drops of water, reflected by the windows, were visible on the car dashboard as dark shadows. Soon, the slight rain turned to a downpour at an alarming rate, making the surroundings almost outta sight. As the rain cleared, a rainbow was suspended over the lands by invisible strings that attatched it to the sky.
'Brunch' was at a place called Restoran Jejantas which was basically an overhead bridge that loomed over the highway. There was an 'A&W' and 'KFC' there, not to mention souvenir stores that sold traditional Malay toys.
Soon after we entered the state of Selangor, we reached our destination, a hotel named 'One World Hotel' located in the town of Petaling Jaya. It was just beside a shopping center and that fact made it convienient for shopping and eating. Petaling Jaya is an upper middle-class estate, which meant that most of the people live in either bungalows, terraces or semi-ds.
Now I shall just skip to dinner, as nothing much happened in the afternoon. After a hard time trying to figure out where to eat, we finally decided to eat at the food court. I had the famous Penang Kuay Teow soup. Delicious!!! The soup was both sweet and sour, and when you drank it, it paints a spicy taste at the back of your throat! The kuay teow was both smooth and filling. Not to mention the price: 5.80RM for a gigantic bowl!
Afterwhich, we went shopping around the gargantuan shopping center. It had a rock climbing wall, a children's some sort of 'playground' with balls all around it. At peak hour, the whole place was packed, especially the cinemas: A long queue of more than 50 people!
Ok, that's all folks!

Happenstance Found

Now my blog's almost dead so I'm just in time to keep it alive. THis is a different type of post though, its gonna be a book review. But I shall only summarise the fisrt part as there is far too many things to summarise about in the book as there are just too many important points. yes, you might say, if this is a summary you should try to minimise the words. So if you say that, then I can just write the cover page.

Book Title: 1st book of 'The Books of Umber", titled 'Happenstance Found'
Author:P.W.Catanese
Here begins our tale:
The boy felt as if he'd emerged, fully conscious, out of nothing. His eyes were blindfolded and when he reached for it, an unfamiliar voice spoke, "Don't touch that." Knowledge seemed to float back to him slowly, but he still didn't know his name. The stranger told him to be quiet, at least until the worm passes. A moment later, there was incessant clacking and a finger was drew to his lips, a sign for him to be quiet. After the worm passed, there were footsteps and voices heard. A trio appeared in an archway. Their names were: Oates, a burly man; Sophie, an archer; and Lord Umber, a man always in search of an adventure.
The stranger spoke outta nowhere, "Call him Happenstance. Take him Umber. You'll need him for your next task. The boy has a note in his pocket, you'll find some answers there. Good luck Umber and Happenstance."
Umber then discovers that Hap (short for Happenstance) could see in the dark with his green eyes as he possesses nocturnal vision, a newe discovery for Umber and Hap himself. THe not that Umber received from the stranger through the boy said on the front cover: For The Eyes Of Umber Only. After Umber reads the note, Hap asks what was in it but Umber refused to tell him.
Umber later offered Hap to travel with them and Hap accepted the offer, not knowing what else to do. Along the way, Umber then told Hap that this maze of rocks was actually called Alzumar, which was buried by a volcano ash after a volcano named Mount Ignis erupted. He then said that the tyrant worm made Alzumar its home as it can't stand the light of the day. Umber then told Hap about the tyrant worm being a legendary man eater.
(What an abrupt ending...)

Chalet

I'm not gonna blog about the process of planning the chalet, as that would have to take 2000 words or more.

Monday:
Woke up with more runny nose and cough after having a bad night's sleep of continuous runny nose. Today was the day that class 6/2 booked a chalet at Goldkist Resort located in East Coast Park area 'D'. Took my medicine and proceeded to say visit 'Mr Computer'.
Woo Hian called me at 2+ to ask for directions from his house to the chalet. I gave him the directions he wanted andhe was shocked to hear that he needed to walk over 1km from the Marine Terrace bus stop to reach the chalet.
I heard that we were supposed to reach the chalet past 2.30pm, so I decided that I would reach a little later. I left the house and walked to the bus stop later discovering that I had left my wallet at home. LOL. Rushed back at breakneck speed before discovering that I had left the wallet on the couch, which was downright stupid.
Bus 14 came not long after. I had actually wanted to take that bus to East Coast Rd and hike all the way from there to the chalet. Bu that may take even longer and tiring. So I got of a stop and crossed the road to another bus stop where I waited for Bus 31. Lucky me. A minute after I sat down on the burnished seat, it came.
I passed the VJC and thought that the bus would stop at the next one. But at the nexxt stop, it just kept on rumbling. Only until another stop, it finally allowed me to go out. It was raining by then as I took my umbrella out. I walked to Siglap Park Connector and found that the canal was almost overflowing.
Walking along the Connector, I saw that the overhead bridge wasn't far away. BUt it required walking away from the direction of the chalet. I tried to take a peek whether there was another overhead bridge across the ECP in the direction of the chalet; sadly, there was none in sight. So I just had to take the one nearest to me.
After crossing the overhead bridge, I walked and reached the chalet after a few minutes.Saw some of my classmates comin outta the resort when I walked into it. Our chalet was D01 and it was facing a playground. Inside was reral crowded due to the confined spaces. The bedroom was upstairs and there were only 2 beds situated in it. THe boys were plyin PSP upstairs while some downstairs were renting their bikes from a man who had booked the chalet next to ours. He charged $4 an hour and $6 for 2 hours. I had actuallywanted to rent a bike for 2 hours but the man asked me to rent it for 1hr and then come back. What a cheapo!
We went cycling in groups. I went with Zi Jie, Jun Lei, Yi Sien, Darren and Zhi Hang. We cycled to Fort Road. Zi Jie and I were the first to reach there. I offered him to go to the Katong side under the flyover but he resisted. Then we all cycled back to the chalet. After pedaling for a while, the rest were nowhere in sight. So I just made my way back. Along the way, I saw some other groups goin towards and away from the chalet.
Some people had reached already and were upstairs playing (and watching) PSPs. What's the point of coming here when you're just going to play? At least they were somehow, socialising...
Zhi Hang came back half an hour later saying that Zi Jie had crashed into Amanda at Mac and ha to walk back from there. Darren had gone off towards Fort Rd to ask everyone to come back to the chalet.
In the meanwhile, with nothing to do, Mathilda offered me to go to the beach with her. Bryan came along too, and we were there splashing water and sand at each other. Mathilda got herself wet and I told her to blame it on gravity instead of me.
George came along soon after and sat on the sand, looking at the far horizon. He said he wanted his privacy and told us not to go into the chalet as they were throwing water bombs at him.
We were curious and went back to the chalet, only to find the floor coated with puddles of water. Around the 'kitchen' sink was a crowd of people filling diminutive balloons with water that made them expand a few times their original size. Clara threw ice at me and threatened to bombard me with 'delicious cupcakes'. She even put ice down my back and I did the same, jus with bigger ice pieces.
Most of us went to the beach to bombard each other with the plastic bags of water balloons. Smaller ones didn't burst that easily beacuse the tension between the rubber wasn't enought so these normally rolled into the sea. People somehow rushed over to get the 'rolled away' ones as if those were their lives. When we ran outta water balloons, we used the plastic bags to scoop water from the sea and splashed it at others. Jun Lei kept spitting out 'cos he complained that the sea water was too salty. Megan screamed in a VERY VERY VERY high pitched voice when I poured water on her.
Shawn and I decided to return to the chalet to showere before everyone comes, then we will have to queue up. I remembered that we had put our slippers somewhere near the top of the beach we were playing at. But then, to my horror, no familiar slippers were there. We then scoured the shore towards the west and found our slippers-50m away from where we were playing! We had actually moved over such a distance to a sand barrier which seperates one beach from another.
WE went back to the chalet and Shawn ask me to lend him my 2nd pair of extra clothes, I lent him the one that I was going to use for sleeping at night, which was long sleeved (but in the end I was not).
Crowds of people started coming in soon after and I was glad we came back early. Dominic's father was clearing up the masses of water and it was then I thought that we can't run a chalet.
Dinner was served and it was a spread of chicken wing, bee hoon, curry and 'junk food'. When I heard that there was gonna be pizza, I waited until the pizza man came. It was Hawaiian pizza and it was better than good. I had 2 huge slices and a few cans of soft drinks.
After the sumptious meal, I told the-people-downstairs that I had sparklers and ask them if they wanted to enjoy the fun of...burning their worksheets (I was the one who told Dominic to tell the rest to bring their worksheets yet I didn't). In the end, no one brought theirs.
We made a small fire over a pile of sand that had been shaped by someone to look like a birthday cake. Using tissue paper as fuel, Megan said that it was a waste so we had to switch to using other stuff. Using flowers, Megan said it was cruel, anyway the flowers were moist so they didn't work. 'Dried leaves' a soaked up lots of moisture that they wouldn't work either. George spoilt the fun by pouring his 100plus on the fire to douse it. Then suddenly the rest started throwing the sand grains on the fire...
Dominic's father left the chalet to us after a while and then I went up to the bedroom and found a whole lotta people crowded in there. I asked George to throw a tissue box through the window that had a view of the bottom floor and he I it up again to him. Then this process repeated until more people wanted to try it.
They started throwing potato chip tubes and sumore random objects up and down. Then they changed throwing chicken wings, prawn cracker bags etc. Jun Lei tore open the tissue box and threw ALL th tissue paper out and it was snowing. Someone brought another giant prawn cracker bag up to the bedroom and accidentally spillt some of it onto the floor. Dominic offered me a prawn cracker served on a plate and I took on, later discovering that it was from the floor...
Th floor was a mess downstairs and Dominic ordered everyone to clear up the mess, well, except for Darren though =( In 20mins, the floor was as good as new (original).
Went home LOL

Staring into the starless night sky...

'Beep beep beep!' the shrill alarm of my handphone sounded, as if having a life of its own. It lit up the room and I woke up, startled. I checked the time: 1am. Wee hours of Tuesday morning. Good sign, I had woken up. Woken up for Mother Nature's great night performance. Rare as you can think but how often do you see a 'meteor shower' in Singapore?
The Leonid Meteor Shower has produced some of the most spectacular meteor displays in history, but it is unfortunately periodic in nature. They generally begin from 13 November and end at 21 November with maximum occuring on the nights of 17 and 18 November.
Ok enough of infomation, back to my story.
As I shuffled out from the bedroom, I walked towards the window and took a peek outside. There were indeed lights, but they seem to be...moving...at a very slow speed. Later I realised that the sky was filled with clouds and stars were nowhere in sight. So, the lghts couldn't be stars, they were AIRPLANES.
1.30am and I still haven't seen a star as the clouds didn't clear. I ran out of patience and set the alarm to 4am, with high hopes of waking up seeing meteors. But, I overslept. LOL.
THen just now I heard that the meteors passed by during 4.30-5.00. *Sighs* What a waste it was.
Another failure...

Skipping 'Rope'

School after PSLE is like a rope, a silent killer.
Why am I coming to school? Is there anything to do there except attend talks by schools I don't even dare to think about going and board games the whole day? Think...Maybe you disagree with me saying that its the last week of seeing your classmates. Last week?! How can that be? You can always find them to meet them after Graduation right?
Since I do not agree with the latter, I had decided not to come and be honest about it in my post. On that particular Thursday, I heard there was art crap and talks by those schools. But doing(or listening) wasn't going to help in anyway...Unless you wanna take art for O levels, but I totally detest art.

Instead of killing precious time, Dominic and I had decided to do something productive: going to the library and read books before proceding to enjoy the scenery on a bus.
I was supposed to meet Dominic at 10am outside Bedok Community Library, but he came 10minutes late. We introduced each other books and proceeded to read.
Lunch was decided almost immediately after passing a coffee shop's Mixed Vegetable Rice stall. My share was $2.70 while Dominic's was $3.??. The stall had some kinda equation of the combinations of food types. Interesting that was but later we decided that the meal wasn't worth it as the food wasn't up to our expectations. It was just too diluted.
After lunch, Dominic and I decided to take Bus 168 to Woodlands Interchange before heading over to Bottle Tree Park for prawn fishing via Bus 854. Bus 168 was an Express Bus as, most of the time, it travelled on Expressways. But, if you want me to elaborate on the bus trip, I shall buy a book on 'The Meaning of Dreams' for you.
We took the ascending escalator to the platform and waited for the MRT to come and took it to Kahtib MRT Station. The Bottle Tree Park Entrance was 1 Bus stop away so we decided to hike there.
Bottle Tree Park had been in my 'bad books' since I had gone there. I had been dissatisfied with their faclities except for the fishing pond where prawns waited to be caught. We had decided to fish for prwans there at $10 an hour. Prawn catches had no limits so the more praws you catch, the more worth the money.
We decided to book only one fishing rod beacuse of money matters. I saw a green net hanging on the perimeter of the pond by a nail and thought that the net was to keep the prawns in. At that time, none of us knew whether prawns caught could be brought home, so, we just threw the prawns in without realising it that the net belongs to another person. Dominic wanteed to demand from that person another 2 lobsters but fortunately, I managed to talk him outta it.
It was like losing a penny and picking up a pound: After 'losing' 2 prawns, a man in long jeans came up to us and gave us his 6 prawns that were caught.
After using up our hour rent of the fishing rod, the owner gave us a plastic bag to put the prawns in. I had actually decided to rear them (thats impossible) so I wanted them alive. I asked the owner to let us add some water to it but he didn't allow it as the plastic bag might break. BUt we didn't adhere to his words and instead, sneakily took some water out from the super large pond outside. We also got another plastic bag from one of the restaurants.Along the way back, as I was the one carrying the plastic bag, my heart beat in trepidation everytime I felt vibrations coming from the plastic bag. We even had to resort to buying 2 bottles of drinks at a Shell Station just for 2 plastic bags. LOL.
Our 'hard work' didn't pay off in the end. A few of the lobsters were dead (maybe lack of oxygen), and some were drained of all their energy. So we decided to let them all go at the fish pond opposite my block.
So much for the 'hard work'...

Kampong

I recently heard that there was still a kampong in Singapore, so I decide to personally go there to have an experience.
Kampong Lorong Buangkok is situated in a small area the size of 2 football fields. There are currently 28 dwelling units: 10 Malay and 18 Chinese. Paying about $13 in rent, the residents continue to enjoy a slower pace of life that the kampong setting offers.
The houses were not made of attap. The roof was made of corrugated zinc sheets and the foundations were made of wood. The road was made of dirt as it wasn't tared. Puddles of water appeared every now and then as it failed to seep through the waterlogged sand. Lush greenery surrounded the houses and the fresh air made me feel rejuvenated. The plants with larger leaves seemed to have been polished, somehow 'reflecting' sunlight of them. Mother Nature had enthralled me.
Cicadas were chirping in crescendo as I neared the thicker masses of vegetation. On the contrary, mosquitoes were irritating. I knew there were lots of mozzies there and I put on my mosquito patch before I left. But now, I found it on the floor (must have dropped it =D).
Dogs were a common sight there, guarding the other dirt paths branching out from the main one. I tried to go into one of the 'branching paths' but got chased by a dog instead. Fortunately, an old villager shouted at the dog and it stopped in its tracks. I heard a rooster crow as I passed a house but didn't get to see its appearance. And there was once where I walked into a 'branching path' (without a guarding dog of course) without knowing I'd just sneaked into someone's backyard! There was a flower bed consisting mainly of leaves and a black cat locked up in a cage, poor thing. It mewed continuously at me with pity, as if wanting me to get it out.
As this is the last kampong in Singapore, most likely the government would want to demolish it for urban development. But I think we should conserve them instead. See it before it disappears!

Boredom(s)

We were just about to play Game of Life when we saw Jing Yi cutting some leaves out of transparent plastic. The leaves had some wisdom Chinese words that I didn't understand
'Tock, tock, tock. Ok it's your turn,' was the 'noise' or sounds(It's nicer to those people) I heard while playing Monopoly and Game of Life. After 10mins, it all beacme boring since I already played yesterday. It's amazing how they actually played the whole day without getting bored. Godly. So I switch to Reversi. 'Flip Flip Flip,' was the 'nicer sounds' of entertainment as ebony flipped to reaveal an ivory side.
Amanda was teaching Ms Tan how to solved a Rubik's Cube and her teaching was too complex. I was surprised that Ms Tan didn't know how ot solve one since she had with her these past few months, 4 confisticated Rubik's Cubes from pupils (us, but not me. teehee)

"CIP"

"Who wants to volunteer?" Mrs Low questioned, "it must be those whose parents surely can allow." Some of us volunteered, including me. It appears that we were volunteer to help set up the Halloween Party for the P1s and P2s.
At 9am the next day, Ms Dawn Quek came to our class and asked the volunteers to follow her and go down. All 7 of us went down and Ms Quek described what the whole event was going to be like while we sat down on the little chairs in the P1 classroom.
After the talk, we set off to decorate the 2/1 classroom with streamers with pictures of witches, bats, spiders and those 'Halloween stuff'. There were also bottles labled 'poisonous', but unfortunately, there was no liquid in them as Ms Dawn said it would attract ants and did not want to pour anything inside. We did the same for 2/1 and in that morning 3/5 was using it. Some retar* said something that insulted me and I quarrelled with him until I thought that it was no point quarrelling with a retar*.
We brought back some shiny paper (aluminium foil) into the class to cut into pieces for the P1's and 2's Arts and Crafts in the afternoon. Ms Quek said that she needed 60-70 pieces (we did 70 anyway). Amanda wanted the pieces to be 'normal (aka 'crumpled')' but I wanted them to be 'flattened' so both of us quarrelled until I gave in. After we had completed all 70 of them, Mrs Low siad we should flatten the pieces to fit into the plastic bag so we did that. LOL.
AS I had helped to count the aluminium pieces over and over again; and there was marker ink on the sides of the foil, my hands were dyed blue. Yi Sien's and Mathilda's were too. We used hand soap in vain, trying to get the stains off. The bottle of 'CIV'(washing detergent) caught Yi Sien's eye and he tried using that. Miraculously, the stains cam eof his hand. 'Inspired' my the 'miracle soap's power', we tried that too. A few minutes later, Yi Sien told Mrs Low that we used CIV and she gasped in surprise saying '这个很强的!" She then told us to wash with normal hand soap after that.
The shrill bell sounded significantly, meaning that it was time for lunch then. We had from 12.50 to until 1.45 to eat so most of the time was spent in the library, playing and reading.
At 1.45 sharp, 7 of us left the library and waited for Ms Quek at the 2nd staff room exit. We went inside the staff room and wanted to check whether she was there. Instead, some rude teacher came to shout, "1 person enough to meet teacher, need the whole village meh?" If he was an English Teacher, Beckham would be my brother. Outside the staff room everyone agreed that he was damn rude.
Ms Quek walked out of the staff room and went back in again to change into a 'Halloween' T-shirt. We then walked to P1/7 and Ms Quek gave a talk on Halloween to the P1s. She also emphasized on paying attention to the talk to them as they would hae to answer some questions on the topic itself. Apparently, the pupils were split into groups of 6 and were given a task to find 5 diffenrent masks in seperate classrooms or areas around the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floor. There would be a teacher-in-charge for each mask and the pupils would have to ask for his/her name and answer answer a quiz question. All their answers would then be filled into their worksheet. All the teachers-in-charge were having their own lessons so in order not to disrupt their lessons (with pupils searching high and low for the mask in the classroom), the mask was put at a fixed area visible to the eye from outside. The pupils were told that they had a 'bank' of 10points and their group buddy (us) could minus points if they were rowdy.
Before we left, Ms Quek lent us a camera each and said that we could help her take candid photo shots of the pupils while they were doing the activity. Darren and I led one group and he took the camera. You could see from their behaviour that girls mature faster than boys (I'm not being a sexist to either gender!): the boys were rowdy but the girls were polite and quiet.
Well, I wouldn't elaborate more on the activities that took place during 30minutes that we were given to find the treasure. In the end, we found all the masks except the skeleton one, which is simply 4 masks. No points were minus ed but on the contrary, we didn't win the game.
Art and Crafts was next as each pupil got a template made by sticking a transparent sheet over a rectangular cardboard piece with a rectangular hole. THey were then given a Halloween picture and had to trace the outline of it and colour. Then we 'buddies' would have to stick the 'flattened' aluminium foil behind the picture to make it shine by the reflection of light.
When it was their recess, we stayed back for 5minutes helping to pack the markers and paper back for the next session. Mrs Quek gave us 10 dollars to buy drinks. After we had gone down, we decided not to use it and return (partly because YiSien said that she would tell Ms Tan and Ms Tan would praise us). We didn't eat much and had actually wanted to play Ultimate Frisbee by asking Mathilda to go up to the staff room to ask Mrs Yeo for the frisbee(s) under her table. Mathilda came back empty handed saying that the teacher was not at her table. Yi Sien lied to her saying someone followed her and saw that she didn't go to the staff room. BWAHAHAHAHA! You should have seen her reaction: so exasperated! The we played soccer (and basketball) with 3 bottles still having fizzy liquid inside. 1 bottle exploded after being kicked and thrown about.
We had actually thought that the P2's would be more mature and would not behave so badly as the P1's but, to our surprise, they were worse. I had volunteered to lead one group by myself as I thought it would give me more authority (Darren had been having more than me LOL), but there was one hyperactive boy that called the other groups 'bad guys'. But the rest of the group members were quiet but involved.
After their Arts and Crafts, by back and legs were aching after 3/4 a day of decoration, climbing stairs and brisk walking. Not to mention, bending down to help the pupils stick the 'shiny paper' on their pictures. But we were rewarded with a goodie bag and a pencil with a Jack 'O Lantern on top of it. And last but not least, a big 'thank you' from the P1's.

Friday

"No time" to post yesterday and the day before it, so I had decided to post today, baout what happened on 'Friday'. Dominic, Shi Hui, Jonas , Zhen Yi, Lorraine and I had arranged to go to Amanda's house at Punggol Edge. I had been in a quandary, not knowing which bus routes(and MRT) routes to take. I could either take:Bus 222 or 14 to Interchange, take MRT to Pasir Ris, take Bus 3to Punggol MRT and take LRT to Punggol Edge or; I could take Bus 14 or 222 to Interchange, take 87 to Sengkang MRT, take MRT to Punggol and then take the LRT. But since Bus 3 went on the TPE, it would be much faster and without any further calculations, I chose the 2nd route. LOL.
Everything went on smoothly until I found out that the Punggol west LRT was 'not in service'. From the MRT to her Punggol Edge was quite a distance. Luckily I had my Bus Guide, which I flipped through to find that Bus 82 goes there too. But I ignored the 'quite-a-distance' part and started walking to Punggol Edge. Not long after walking, a Bus 82 zoomed past me. I regretted trying to walk there and waited at the nearest bus stop. 15mins later, the other Bus 82 finally came and I hopped on it.
I discovered that It was actually a long way to her house. The thick layer of leaves blocked outmost of the sunlight filtering through and there was no walking path. The distance between 2 bus stops was like a few hundred meters.
I alighted at the first stop after the bus made a loop near the jetty. Walking in, I heard cicadas calling and the occasional birds chirping. It was a truly serene place to live in, with sounds of nature engulfing you. I found her bungalow after a few minutes; rang the doorbell and the rest said I was stupid as the door was wide open. Then Dominic and Jonas told me to put my barang barang down and they asked me to go into the house. Outside the living room, I saw a swimming pool and the duo 'advancing' on me. Uh oh, I knew what was gonna happen next. THey dragged me into the pool! Soon after a while in the pool, I discovered that my phone was still inside my pocket. It was spoilt and I blamed them for doing that. I wrung my clothes and once again they pushed me in.
All of us were in the pool (by hook or by crook) later and we sprayed water at each other with the water guns. We also played Captain's Ball with Amanda, Shi Hui and Jonas on 1 team and Dominic and I on the other. It wasn't really fair as Amanda's team got the shallow end of the pool so it was easier for them to shoot and we got the deep end. Jonas and Shi Hui were wearing white so...
There was a ledge outside the windows on top of the pool, only accessible by climbing from either sides of the pool and we got 2 people stand on it and we sprayed water at them or pulled at their legs so one of them would fall down into the pool first. The 'last survivor' would then be the winner.
Zhen Yi came later and he almost got the same treatment as me, but he told the duo that he needed to go out and his clothes couldn't dry very fast. So, in order to dry ourselves, we went in to the concrete 'field' to play soccer. We took turns to kick the ball at Dominic, who was riding a mini-bicycle. Amanda suddenly wanted to go home and change her shoes. We thought that she would be coming back soon but she didn't. So we walked or ran back to her house. I was heated to the max and wanted to cool down so I went in the pool, again. Dominic also went in. Lorraine came and got tugged into the pool by Dominic. Wet people could not enter the house, so we had to dry ourselves outside while the others were playing the Wii.
My handphone was left out to dry on the schorching wooden boards and I forgot to tell you that Dominic's phone, which is 2weeks old, got into the pool and got spoilt. I dared him to walk on the ledge to the other side if I went too. He accepted the dare and fell in after losing his balance. But I succesfully made it to the other side. He started to dry himself and I sat on a wooden chair, soaking my legs in the pool. With nothing to do, we squirted water on the walls and windows, only to find out that there was a CCTV camera near the pool!
I went inside the house and found out that Jonas and Zhen Yi had used the gun to shoot at the fan. The darts had a suction pad so it would stick on the object it landed on. So they began to shoot more of the darts, hoping to just get that one down. Amanda then stood on the table and tried to get the darts, when the fan was still rotating (crazy right?) at breakneck speed. Another gun with a styrofoam torpedo loaded inside was found. They shot at the fan with the other gun until most of the darts had came down. The last few were positioned at an awkward angle or got stuck onto the ceiling. Amanda then switched off the fan and got a higher chair to stand on, thus being able to reach the remaining darts.
Amanda left the Wii on and we all went to her room and played reversi or chinese chess. Dominic, Lorraine and I went down the stairs and continued playing the Wii.
At 6 plus, most of us went home. In the evening, Dominic told me on the phone, "Eh, Amanda's mother very angry." "Why?"I asked. "The floor very wet!" LOL.

Exaggerated Advert

Left:My picture(lousy muddy water
Right:Advertistment's picture (angelic holy water)
Walking out of the MRT I hesitated. Hmm, should I go left or right? I've never alighted at Bugis before, at least never came out of it. I chose left after checking the map. Took the escalator up and found Albert Street Temporary Market. That was the second time in 2 days that I had been there. The first time, I went to my relatives' shop to help out and left my jacket, water bottle and map behind. *Sighs* I only checked the 'more important items' like: wallet, handphone, MP3. So my sole purpose to going there(again)was to collect those items.
I was told by the owner that they had shifted to another venue and had lost some customers. Another factor of losing their customers was because the roof was made of corrugated zinc sheets which conducts heat into the market, resulting in the market being sweltering hot.
Actually, I had decided to make this trip more useful and was going to the to Bottle Tree Park at Khatib. There was once when I was taking the MRT when I saw this park along the way so I thought: Why not go there now? So I checked the Internet for the facilities at the park before going to Bugis. Their website wrote that it had those facilities:
  • Restaurant
  • Pond
  • Kampung style Buildings

  • Basketball and Volleyball Courts
  • Mini-zoo

  • Obstacle Course

  • Paintball field
  • There were at least 3 restaurants there. The pond water was muddy, looks like nobody's been cleaning it for weeks. Kampung style buildings were just to attract your attention into going into the park, it was actually the restaurant's rooftop. As for the basketball and volleyball court, they were just useless and worn out. Do they really have to advertise about such minor stuff? I did not see any mini-zoo, what I saw were just fish and prawn. The obstacle course was rusty and tucked away at the remote side of the park(if I remember there was one?). At least the paintball field was still in use. But you had to be above 14 to enter, which is quite insulting for me. But I joined in the briefing with the other group and stepped on 'stray paintballs' on the floor. That stained the floor orange.

Uncondensed

The day started off at 11.00 where I walked to the bus stop and waited for a bus 67 to come. Instead, there was a bus 28 and on the contrary, I took that since I remembered that it went to TM. Zhen Yi came on the same bus as me and to our horror, the bus looped around Tampines Estate for almost half an hour! I could have just waited for 67 and we would have been there in 15mins.
THe meeting place was arranged by Dominic, Shi Hui and Amanda at 'Minitoons'. When we arrived at the (mini) shop, there was no one familiar in sight. So I got Zhen Yi to call Dominic and they told us that they were at Popular. We finally met them and walked to the escalator, where we were 'confronted' by a fatass.
Fatass:If you're gonna throw more ice down there, we are gonna call security.
Me:What did I do (you -!)?? It was the rest who did it!
Apparently, Dominic and Co had been throwing Water Babies down at the exhibition where the Fatass thought it was ice. I think she would have felt that it was not, because if it was, she would have screamed 'Oww!'. Whereas if it had not been it would just go 'Splatt!'.
We had lunch at Swensens, but some of them had already eaten at home. I thought I also should have done that as I will not have to spend $12 on a meal. Dominic told me that there was no Food Court around here after I said wanted to eat at one of them. LOL. I'm so 'kiasu'. Anonymous then took the Feedback Form and wrote some nasty comments. Zhen Yi the said that he/she should make it sound nicer. Then Dominic suggested that, 'Your restaurant is 名落孙山.' No offence Swensens, were just joking, actually, the foor was delicious and their service was great.
Arcade!~was suggested by Amanda; before going to catch a movie. I'm not gonna emphasize on that, because there's nothing for me to talk about. We had actually planned to watch Imagine That, which is a PG rated movie. There was actually worries that the people working at the cinema would not let us (the 'little kiddies') in to watch as it was a PG one. But (I dunno why), the let us in. Maybe they had LOW INCOME and they just want to let anyone in to make more money; that probably goes the same for the R-21 ones.
THe movie is about a girl, who had a blanket and says that, with the blanket, she can talk to here imaginary friends. Her father accidentally found out that the 'friends' can predict things happening in the other companies. He then uses this advantage to compete with his rival to become the CEO of the company. THen there was once that he knows that he can't rely on 'luck'.
THey spent all their money on the arcade games with me using like 50% or more of the games.
We then headed to 'Toys R'Us' and we had some kinda well...'war game' there. I hit Amanda on her head with the toy hammer, hard. And she came with another one, chasing me around. THen this went on, with more 'techniques of attacking' like me poking her with the stem of a toy flower. A woman then came up saying,'This is not a playground'.

Make up

Haven't been posting for the past few days so here's to make up for it.
13-10-09:

Yes! PSLE's over! Went to Dominic's house with Jonas, Shi Hui and Clara. Took Bus 14 and walked the rest of the way there. Dominic immediately took out his football and played with it in the playground (aka 'Park') with Jonas. Then he suggested that Clara and Shi Hui should play as well and started teaching them how to. When the ball was rolling into the drain, Clara would cheer 'Drain! Drain! Drain!' loudly until it went in. If it did, the response would be 'Yes!' But if it didn't, it would be 'Aiya!' Then there was once where I kicked the ball and it rolled into the drain and into the smaller drain (aka sewage pipe). And I was forced by Dominic to climb into it, however, I thought that that was the stupidest way to get the ball out. Instead, I used a bamboo pole to push it out. However, since the pipe was going under the breadth of the road, the pole was too short so I needed to use another. The other one was longer so I used 'the other' to push 'that one' to push 'football' closer to the other side of the pipe. Then after it was retrieved, I had to push 'that one' with 'the other to the other side. Somehow, the 'the other could not come out from the other side of the pipe after retrieving 'that one' as it was stuck between the wall and the pipe. And somehow I got it out with a couple of twists and turns.
Then there was lunch: It was bee hoon, chicken wings and 'some other(s)'. Only Clara was willing to eat. We stared at her while she ate. Having four pairs of eyes roving around her was enough to make her lose her appetite. So she gave up eating, and let Shi Hui take her place.
Badminton was fun playing with Dominic and Jonas over the gate: 1 person(s) stand on the road and the other standing in the house. But we only had 2 plastic shuttles. 1 flew onto the roof and the other, flew to 'Yati's' house. 'Yati' is what Dominic called the maid and its a fake name. When we rand the doorball, a face appeared at the window and said, 'We are busy'. Busy with what? Thats the thinking part. Soon after, Jonas threw a water baby at me and I smashed it with the racket. It brok like glass and dropped onto the ground. Upon that, I took a real HUGE one and smashed it at Clara. It rained on her!
After which, we went to The Summit after playing on the swings (and I got dizzy). It was like a ghost town there, nobody was spotted and it had a ominous layer of clouds. THere was also a strange noise. WE discussed about the Class Gathering and the playground and proceeded to play table-tennis. Soon after, we had to leave as it was going to rain. Jonas and I waited for the rest at the gate and Dominic opened the door for us with the key. As we had shut the door, Dominic had to use the key to open it for Clara and Shi Hui again while we ran back. Apparently, the key could not work and they had to climb over the fence. Something happened (I'm not supposed to say it) to one of them as he/she climbed over the fence.
I had brought a boomerang on that day and we took turns to throw it. Its flight path was unexpected and there was once where it hit a car after bouncing on the pavement.
14-10-09:

It was a do nothing day, except for taking the graduation photo.
After school, I had lunch at my grandmother's house. Then waited for Bus 67 at the nearest bus stop to see scenery. You may think I'm whiling away precious time, but, I've got all the time in the world!
The bus rumbled along Changi Road before reaching Geylang Serai. It's decor was brown and even the overhead was too! Then a boy of like P3(?) came up to me and asked, 'You primary what?' And I answered in curiosity,'6.' Then he asked my whether I could do one question in his 'Maths My Pals Worksheet'. THe topic was on 'Time' and I solved it with ease and explained it to him. He started firing questions at me and telling me about his school and stuff. I got a headache answering his questions after he alighted.
Crossing the Kallang River, the bus moved along on Kallang Road, where Sims Avenue East and Geylang Road merged. It then took a right turn to go to Bendemeer road via Lavender Street. One thing I noticed about the shops along Bendemeer Road was that it had lots of light shops. But the amount of light shops decreased significantly after the bus reached Jln Besar. THe high-rise buildings were then very clear. Near the Rochor River, the bus took another right turn over to Rochor Canal Road. THen it passed Little India where it travelled on the 7mile Bukit Timah Road.
It was then that my eyes were beginning to weigh a thousand pounds and soon, I dozed of. THe first time I woke up was when I felt myself slidng backwards and got a shock. When I looked behind me, I saw that I was just leaning on the support. THe second time was when I kicked something and saw that I was already at Jln Anak Bukit, where Bukit Timah Road changed to Upp Bukit Timah Road. At that time, I forced myself not to sleep as I was gonna reach my destiantion already. On the right was the Dairy Farm (or is it...?) and the landscape was less urban.
Finally, I reached Choa Chu Kang HDB Estate where there was the Bukit Panjang LRT. I then realised that it was quite long, apart from the map pictures. Maps cannot be trusted, no I mean that the SIZE cannot be.
I chose to take the North South Line towards Woodlands as I had never gone there before and since the difference in number of stops was 1 or 2 more than travelling South. Along Yew Tee to Kranji, it was a long trail going past Sungei Kadut and going over the KTM. The coast of Malaysia was within sight and I had actually wanted to go down to the tracks. I alighted at City Hall where I had to change train to the East West Line towards the East. Alighted at Pasir Ris MRT because I thought that there was still time to continue my Expedition. THe security Guard didn't let me in and Clara didn't answer my calls to ask for Jonas to come to the phone. In the end, I called his home and asked the person which unit number his house was. THen I wrote it down on the book that the guard passed to me.
In the end, I saw lots of people wearing the school uniform playing at the playground. It turned out that there were more people coming to his house. I regretted going on the Expedition as I could save it for another day and play with the rest.
End of Very Long Post -_-

Parents up in arms over PSLE Maths paper

I just saw this piece of news. Parents complained over PSLE Maths paper. Read it yourself: http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/singaporelocalnews/view/1010464/1/.html
On the article, they said that "he got very emotional and started crying. He said his hopes of getting (an) A* are dashed", but that is only a paper. If you find it hard, others also find it hard right? NO point crying, it dosen't help, this is what I call 'plain stupidity'.
Another thing is that, don't parents learn their lesson on complaining? Complaining wouldn't change anything, let alone the children's marks. THe only action taken will be the MOE saying 'this is PSLE'. Another sign of 'plain stupidity'.
"They have spent months revising and preparing, but it's so much tougher than they expected. It really put a big dent on students' morale." Haven't the parents and teachers said that once the paper is over, its over. Nothing can change it: 昨天像落花,像流水,一去不回头。And when the studens have low morale, they will keep brooding over it and not do well for the next paper. If you still have a high morale, you will have more advantage over the rest. Reason being, most likely you will do better.
I predict there will be another 290 scholar this year, who shone brightly beyond the rest.

Mathchinese

I just realised today, how easy Maths was.
Surprisingly, I knew how to solve ALL the questions, with the last one as an exception. Filled with remorse, I just stared blankly in the air (trying to find air molecules) wondering if I was that stupid. I just didn't think of the questions from another angle. Speaking of angle(s), the angle question's answer is actually 150 degrees. The triangle is actually an equilateral one, but you people can't just assume it is. Sheer luck that it was one, otherwise all of you would get it wrong by assuming. The equilateral triangle and those 2 isoceles ones are actually forming 2 overlapping trapeziums if you noticed. 2 of the angles from 2 parellel ends of the trapezium form 180 degrees. The other 180 degrees is formed by 1 side of the 'equilateral' traingle and another side of the isoceles one. There is another line dividing the square into half so that will form a 90 degree angle covering half an angle of the 'equilateral' one. So in that case, in order to make it clear to the examiner, use Guess and Check to fit the propeties of a trapezium, equilateral and isoceles triangle. I doubt you will understand my explanation. disrespectful attitude'.
Chinese compo was not to what I predicted: A robbery. Instead, it came out 'what you all know'. Some people regretted writing Q1, which was 'A result of my disrespectful attitude'. On the contrary, I had actually wanted to write that, using the picture compo as an idea: When my friend wanted to borrow money from me, I made some mean remarks and in the end I lost a friend.
The Chinese Paper 2 was easier than I thought, beacuse my thoughts were 'influenced' by the Maths. I was actually hoping that the comprehension would be easier without those kinda 'moral of the story' questions as I was not so strong at those, would most likely get only 'method marks'. In the end, my wish came true, but the other didn't. I was also hoping that the cloze passage would be damn difficult so I would get more advantage as that was my strongest section.
Thats for all now!

08 October 2009

PSLE

Finally, its started.
Today was Mathematics, it was surprisingly hard. Hard as a...diamond? In that case, difficult. I actually told myself that I could solve every question. Well, that may have been possible if I had managed my time better, this only applies to the Section C questions. As usual, I did the paper from back to front, instead of the usual way. This was due to my belief that, if one does the paper back to front, starting with the difficult questions first, one will concentrate better on them.
But I was like, horror of horrors! Last 2 questions, dumbstruck-did not even write working except a few ratios, but that is only applicable for the last one. At least, the 5mark questions were easier and more straight forward than the 4mark ones, which is utterly amazing. 1/2 hour more=all questions solved(regardless of correct or wrong). Balloon question totally fired me up like a bullet at first. I knew I could solve it with those steps, but halfway through...Huh? I was completely puzzled and had no inkling what the next step was. Scrutinizing the question numerously did not increase a step of my working. So I just used my 'tikam power' mingled the numbers together and got a 3-digit number. Well, I did think of common multiple, but in a different way. Different, how can that be? Its just Different as in, 3.75 small balloons can be put in a 90cm rod. I don't think that way would get me anywhere so if I thought in the other way as in, 15 small and 8 big would fit in a 360cm rod. That was a big IF, but sadly, I didn't. Anonymous taught me.
Then there was that speed question. I thought of it in ANOTHER way that I somehow didn't really think about, which is impossible so---I dunno what I thought about. What puzzled me when I learnt the answer, is that I completely didn't think about that! 'Given your level of intelligence you should be able to solve it.' and 'You dunno? How can?' were the comments.

3 question skipped, speed, last question and second last. All of them I just drew crap.
Last question and balloon one wrong.
Second last I actually put 150 degrees as I thought it was an equilateral triangle. But soon after I saw a trapezium and found of that if it was a equilateral traingle, it wouldn't fit the propeties of a trapezium. So I tried using guess and check to find something that would fit the equilateral triangle and an isoceles one. But I forgot about another 90 degree angle LOL.
Computer question ans: 100min, most got 25min while Megan got 37.5 and over reacted.

光阴似箭

Time passes so fast, like a rocket.
The start of this year was like...yesterday? Now it is already a day before PSLE.
I wonder why parents don't allow their children to use the the computer before exams? I recently heard that the reason was: Children will be addicted to the computer and not concentrate on studies. I don't think its true because if children are disciplined (I mean DISCIPLINED), they will know what their piorities are and start working after using the computer. But some children are not disciplined and as a result, their parents don't allow them to use it as they think its an obstacle to sucess.
I'm not really under stress right now, but before there had been mountains of homework to do. Tuition was by my grandmother and she came like once a week; she also made it convienient for me as she came on the days that I was free. So, hope my hard work will pay off in the exams!

The hardest part is not the exams but the waiting of the exam.

I'm back

Hi all! I'm back from a few days of hibernation TEEHEE. Guess many of you thought I was dead (touchwood) I'm alive and kicking...the bucket. LOL. Enough of crap.
I dunno why I've got like no stress, not even nervous about...'you know what'. But I seem quite happy doing my work like the 'whole' day. Computer and going outdoors was an exception though. Here are some things I really HATE when doing my work. It totally ruins my work-mood.
1.Pen no ink
Its not that I don't have another spare one but rather, the spare ones are spare for exams. So I don't wanna use them (don't ask me why, no reasons) so I'll have to put up with one of those ball-point ones.
2.Correction tape missing
I really need that. Its one of my essentials. I don't want my work to be cancelled untidily, instead, I want it to be immacuate.
3.No lead for pencil
When lead runs out, the 'lead box' always appear to be missing, a.k.a 'somewhere over the rainbow'. And then I'll have to use those wooden pencils which I begrudge.

By the way, I just saw this video on Yahoo;its uber funny.

Reminising...

Left to right: "War submarine", "Cannon", Some Car, "Hornet"
Hidden from sight, old and forgotten.
I suddenly remembered there were these thingies. When I took them out, they were filled with dust so I had to clean them. "What are they?" You may ask. Well, lemme tell you, I seriously don't know what they are, but I just know they are made from correction tape casing, and sometimes made by the tape itself.
Hmm, I started this since P4 but lost interest the following year. How did it get started? 'a' (anonymous) and I first found out that we could grind pencils to form 'graphite powder' with the more or less, sharp edges of where the gears are in a correction tape. So next we begun building figures and sticking them together with sticky tape. But we found it too 'not nice' so we changed to glue. I was quite a waste as we did not bother to use finish the correction tape, we just threw it away. But someone came up with a bright idea: Let other people use it quickly so it wouldn't be a waste.
Then 'b', somehow recruited more people to form a club. Then there were like a lotta different kinds of 'jobs' and 'b' made his/herself the leader. This we didn't mind 'cos he/her was responsible. The club's mission was to sell this type of thing for charity, but we only managed to earn $2 :'-(
And then 'b' was making things really complicated like asking me to go and create an entrepreneur account on some website. 'B' wanted me to put my email address and created a draft website on my Science P4 PSLE Booklet. Even when I didn't want to create one, we still had fun making those thingies.
The next year we al had to change classes so there was less time for us to interact so the whole club just shattered like broken glass. And I really have no inkling why the thingies are with me. But what's left within them is a good piece of memory that I'm sharng with you all.
*Sorry for the bad picture arrangement

World War III

Firstly, Amanda brought a plastic container filled to the brim with 'water babies'. They were simply just jelly like substances 'grown' in water and when it grows too big, it will split into two pieces, like budding. Then she started World War III by throwing them at the rest of the people, so in 'self defence', they threw back at her. Some of them missed (her aiming fails...) and hit me, what's more, she used broken water babies so they I was like...eww, when it hit my table. Then Jonas came forward and squished them so they were all over my worksheet. Then I had to shake it to dry.
World War III continued even after the Children's Day Celebration, where more of the class joined in, even me. At first I threw one I found on the floor at Amanda where it broke into pieces when it hit her face, hard. She was determined to seek revenge so she threw what she called 'The Rain of The Babies' at me. Bounce bounce bounce, most of the water babies missed and started rolling and bouncing on the floor. As I didn't want my work to get wet, I draped my jacket over it, 100% protection.
Later, most people got frustrated by seeing the slimy mess on the floor made by the water babies, so we stopped World War III. Most of the water babies got crushed by our footfalls and Zhen Yi said,"Aww, you've crushed those poor babies!'
Amanda said before World War III,"It looks like every day the first two rows got something to play. Yesterday we play with --(something I don't know), today we play with water babies, then Friday we wll play with magnets ah?"

My prediction...

*Currently watching F1

I'm not allowed to use the computer at like 10.00++, when F1 finishes, so this post is about 'My Prediction' of the winner, I guess that Lewis Hamliton would win the Singapore Grand Prix. He has a like 1 second plus lead and thats quite big so...yeah?

I'm not really interested so...back to work...

'Kiddy and Dog'

Hi! Here's a 'picture' Kayleen and I did in school by randomly cutting ice-cream sticks. Then I assembled them together to form the 'Kiddy and Dog' while she drew the background and coloured the ice-cream sticks. The thing the 'Kiddy' is holding is a leash, although it doesn't look like one.LOL.
By the way, a and b (anonymous) were playing dominoes with erasers. When the 'dominoes' all fall down, everyone laughs hysterically like deranged people from IMH.

Be confused

(Compare the 2 photos, Before and After)
OMG! Can someone tell me if this is really gonna happen to Singapore in the future? I think I may get lost in this 'labyrinth'(by that time I'll be driving)

What is the need for so many lines? It makes me feel that Singapore is as big as other countries, with MRT lines criss-crossing each other. We still have buses, and whoever created this is stupid. There is really no need for so many. But somehow, I think the government is upgrading the country to challenge others. When there's competition, it makes improvement right?! So, what are your views?
*P.S This is only a suggestion by Stupid, so I hope the government wouldn't accept it. If this really happens, I don't think there will be road vehicles ANYMORE...LOL

Taxi

Some taxi drivers seem like they have never talked in a million years.
It started when our family car tire was puntured and we had to get to the showroom to change it. I was on my way to my grandparents' house for tuition on Compositions(Chinese). There was not enough time so I had to take the taxi there. Then the driver started asking me Questions
Me:Lower Delta Rd, take ECP
Driver:You going there for tuition eh
Me:No I going to my grandma's house, she gives me tuition
Then there was a line of conversations...
Driver:Your grandmother how old?
Me:Err...60 plus
Driver:Wah! She retire already then give you tuition, what school she teach at?...
Then he asked me about my results and blah blah blah.
Well, there are more events that happened after that, but look at the title it says 'Taxi' so the main point is TAXI.

Rain

Dark and ominous rain clouds gathered together and formed a blanket over the earth. Intermittent sunlight filtered through, with dim rays flashing through. Trees shook and leaves rained down, with a little 'help' of the wind. A flash of radiant light split the skies into halves. following was distant thunder, like a train, rumbling furiously on the tracks. The first droplets were barely visible, but as more and more gathered up, it formed a pellucid curtain, making seeing almost unattainable, even when it was transparent.
Darren had came to the house and we planed to play basketball at around 6 plus. But looking at the weather, we decided not to. I had to send him to the school because of some reasons. By the time we reached the ground floor, it was pouring like there was a whole ocean in the heavens, 'trickling' down.
The wind was howling like a wolf and the roads were flooded, with leaf litters all swept away by the currents. The wind proved truly too strong for my umbrella and it started to flip inside out. The rain was just too 'energized' that people had to stay in the shelter outside the school to avoid getting wet. Even with the shelter and the umbrella, I was still drenched head to toe when I got home...

Locks

Yesterday, the PE room lock was broken, by a and b(anonymous). THey asked us to keep a watch out for Mr Deepak who was chasing them. They told 'some' people about the password. I was one of them, and the next day...Trouble! Mrs Low asked those who knew the password to raise their hands to identify them so 'a' could write down a report to some random teacher. 'a' told me that we were going to have a lotta questioning as we are identified as suspects. Suspects of what? Well, the lock was missing from the door and those who knew the password could have stolen it. So the principal and vice-principal came and asked them some thingies about that thingy. Then Mrs Low said that this was a crime and they could report a and b to the police. I don't think it is so serious right?
But we were honest and we raised ip our hands, not like those liars...

Dunman High 2010---Fail

Fail. Didn't get into Dunman High with DSA Badminton. DSA consists of 2 parts: The trial and the GAT test (General Ability Test). Though many strong ones were rejected, some 'dark horses' were accepted. There was one who was accepted, he was about my playing standard and he go in, but I did not! I 'suspect' some coaches being biased to him or it(that was a dark horse wasn't it).
I received the letter about 1 week ago and it said 'Unsuccessful Application for Dunman High 2010' so I highlighted the 'Unsuccessful' word and underlined it to motivate myself to do well for the upcoming PSLE. Actually, there is nothing bad if you're not accepted. If one is accepted, one may think that PSLE is not important and not do well for it. Reason being he may think: I already have a school to go to, there is no need to study anymore, and I the end, maybe one may go to the lousiest class there.
Remember, there are no boundaries, strive on and reach for the stars and do well for PSLE! You may want to turn off the 淋雨中song as there may be a cacophony

Trademark

TM stands for Trademark, but I don't mean that, it means Tampines Mall (I know you know) by the way.
Went to TM to watch G-force. Ate at Pizza Hut first, Bill:$37.50. Not sure whether I was paying more or less. am I paying mindlessly? -_- After that, Arcade at Timezone! (yeah its 'such' an 'important' place that I have to put it with a capital letter at the front right?)Once again I was like OK, but no, I did not fork out a single cent and I mean a single. At first I thought an Arcade(Once again capitals...) was just about those kinda video games where you just aimlessly shoot shoot shoot, but it was more. There was those more 'meaningful' types.
After the movie was Arcade...again I did not fork out a single cent, (as usual) and they spent like $20 on the games itself. We played carrom, bowling, basketball, the 'knock the mallet on the ledge' and more.
Afterwards Harry ran away to somewhere over the rainbow (where there is a pot of toilet paper) and disappeared. One 'down'. Then Ashley and Zheng Jie went. The Remaining-Woo Hian and me. We ate at Din Tai Fung and ordered the Steamed Pork Dumplings and suddenly, Zheng Jie appeared outta nowhere. The waitress then served us tea, 3 cups. And Zheng Jie 'chickened out' again. The tea was $1 per cup and we, or should I say 'I' had to pay for it. Woo HIan then informed the waitress and she changed the receipt. In the first place, they shouldn't have served us drinks. Steamed Dumplings were deeeeeeelicious, I ordered 6 so both of us shared 3 each. On the sign the dumplings were $5.90 and the bill turned to be $9.75, I said it was my treat so I, paid for it?
Then after, we took thew MRT to Pasir Ris for 'sightseeing'. At the terminal, Woo Hian was dared by me to run to the other side of the platform and touch the sliding door, if he did not do it quickly, the train doors would slam shut and, his belongings were inside.
Pictures tommorow as I forgot my memory card ;(

Freefall the Book

Finally! The summary is out for Freefall. It goes like this:

After Will, Chester and Elliott fell into the Pore, they landed on a humongous fungus that cushioned their landing. Elliott's bones were broken so they had to carry her while they did some exploring. Will was trapped in a trap and they encounted giant carnivorous spiders and their only defence was Elliott's rifle. Suddenly, the spiders were shot by an old woman who's name was Martha. She had laid the traps and took the 'spider-monkeys' back to her shack with the trio. Her shack had a garden with a special plant called the Aniseed Fire which keeps the spider-monkeys away.
Later, Elliott catches the fever like Martha's son, Martha's son had died of it so they were worried for her. Rebecca One then appears at the door of their shack and claims that she had been threatened by Rebecca Two to do her bidding. Will then took her in and locked her up, then gathering information from her and takes the Dominion virus and the antidote, which she had given him, from her. Martha then says taht there are medicinal supplies in The Metal Ship.
They then set off, into places where lava flows so close to the rock that it is very hot. Rebecca also followed, only creating more trouble. Then there was the Wolf Caves and a bridge where the Brights lived.
In a sizable cavern, they find The Metal Ship and got a glimpse of a Bright when they climbed up the ship. It was something like a bat but had a wingspan of nearly 10 metres. THey later see Rebecca Two with his Dad. Rebecca One then joins in with her twin to make an exchange: Dr Burrows for Rebecca One, Martha and the Dominion. Elliott then lights a fuse that exploded, probably killing the twins and their last Limiter.
Will and his Dad were seperated from the rest of the group and were expected to meet at the Wolf Caves. They then stumble upon an Underground Harbour which was built by humans. There were beds, food and even showers. Will tried calling his mother on the telephone but his mother did not recognise the number. They then see some boats which brought them onto a river. A day and a half later, They reached Topsoil in another part of England.
They then bought a bus ticket which brought them back to Highfield, Dr Burrows then gets attacked by on of the Styx's agents. Will encounters Drake, who led him and his Dad to his mother.
Since Will's mother already knows what was going on, she had to escape to another part of the country while Will and his Dad get to the Underground Harbour via the river. Drake and Celia(Will's mother) then made a deal with their agents to see their 'Mr Big' to make a fake exchange to threaten them. The threat was then backfired and Celia was taken away to the Hold where the Styx used the Dark Light to brainwash her.
Will and his father were lost a another void they called Smoking Jean where Chester's voice was heard and they were relocated. Dr Burrows leapt down Smoking Jean and Will followed suit to test out the 'zero-gravity' concept. They landed on The Metal Ship. Elliott also followed them and they did an 360-degree check of the ship for the virus. THey ran into the middle of the void and see breathtaking water droplets and crystals.
THe trio wake up finding a sun glaring up at them, it was The Garden Of The Second Sun ( A pheonican tale Dr Burrows found out in the Deeps), where there were animals long thought to be extinct, pyramids, and the rebbeca twins soaking in a pool. A fuse is lighted, killing the twins and their Limiter. Will, Elliott, Bartleby and Dr Burrows then stay in this heaven-like land.
