Ok, to start off with, Jamie asked or requested me to give a summary of the book Deeper, which is continued from Tunnels I had to read like crazy for like 150 pages to post about it today. Its quite complicated as there are 2 or 3 scenes at once and each chapter or part gives the description of each one scene.
1st scene:Will, Cal, and Chester in the Deeps
2nd scene:Sarah Jerome (Will and Cal's mother)
3rd scene: Dr Roger Burrows (Will's stepfather) in the Deeps.
I would not want to confuse you so I will just be giving the description for the most exciting part which is of course, the 1st scene.
They stumble upon a series of tunnels after alighting from the Miners' Train and found a clue that Dr Burrows was there in an old house in Crevice City. Then Cal gets stuck in a sugar trap where the microbes stick onto his skin and feed on him. Will thought he was dead so he did not save him.
Then they notice some Styx called Limiters and were threatened by a tall man not to make a sound. The man brought them to a room where they could rest. After Will told him about Cal, The man named Drake, and A teenage girl called Elliott, went to rescue him by almost drowning him.
Drake then told Will that he needed to learn some field craft like foraging, escaping from Limiters and more. When he followed Elliott on one of her patrols, they nearly got away from some Limiters. And when Drake took them on patrol along 'The Perimiters', Will gets lost and then is relocated by Elliott after Elliott, Chester and Cal survive a shootout by the Limiters. Drake was then caught and taken away.
The four then crossed the 'Causeway' to an island so they could settle down and think of what to do next. When Elliott and Will were returning to base, they caught sight of Drake being tortured. Elliott then used her rifle to shoot at Drake to end his pain, but it missed. THey then caught the Limiters attention and it turned out to be another shootout. Elliott then asked Will to shoot Drake but in a middle of a fog, he did not know if he hit it.
The four then swam back to mainland and wanted to go to the Wetlands through the Pore. Along the way, Elliott shoots Sarah as she thought that she was a Limiter. Will and Cal then recognise that that was their mother. Along the way, they meet up with numerous Limiters that did not react, Elliott then realised that this was their trap and they had stumbled into it. Cal was thought to be killed in the shootout and the rest plunge into the deep Pore.(This is the other scene) Sarah, heard that the Styx were going to use a virus named the Dominion to control the world after Drake, who was sill alive, saved her from the Limiters. She then ran at full tilt and pushed the twin styx sisters into the hole with her...
